Creative Resilience
Julie Ceigler, LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSW
When was the last time you felt truly understood? Life today can feel as though you're stuck in a spin cycle without a chance to breath or sense of purpose. You may feel confused, alone, or overwhelmed, but you're not. I've successfully helped clients work through life's adversities, strengthen practical coping skills, and view the present and future in a realistic, positive way. I've also helped clients with chronic illness or disabilities maximize their quality of life and reach their goals, such as returning to work or school, or being a better parent or spouse. We'll set up a plan that meets your current needs, then empower you to reach your goals, together.

Individual counseling for mental health or substance abuse, with a focus on the queer community and people with disabilities.
I practice therapy around the concept that life doesn’t have to narrow or worsen after a trauma, challenge, loss, or illness. Personal relationships and everyday tasks that have grown tedious and mandatory can all deepen in meaning- when viewed in a different light. Goals that seem impossible now may just need guidance and a creative approach.
As someone in recovery and with a chronic illness, I've not just helped others. I've worked hard to increase my quality of life and change, with the support of others. I can help you, because I've been in your shoes and I know what works. Please, don't hesitate to reach out and get in touch. I offer free initial consultations and telehealth. I am in network with Aetna, Cigna, Carefirst/Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, GEHA, and Medicare.
About Me
I firmly believe everyone can change
I'm licensed in Maryland, DC, and Virginia and provide telehealth service. I have 15 years experience and worked in a variety of settings prior to starting my own business, with a focus on substance use and overall mental health for people with disabilities. It was my dream to empower people with disabilities or chronic illness, after seeing the treatment of our bodies without attention to our lives as a whole. I also work with many clients who are queer or Jewish, as I identify as both.
